Increased competition within the Higher Education sector in Australia is driving universities to adopt technology to maximise operational efficiencies and enhance their offerings to attract students and improve their experience.
Developments in technology are also changing student expectations in how they connect with Universities and how they learn.
GWI understands the Higher Education sector
GWI has worked extensively over the past 10 years supporting digital transformation and innovation across the higher education sector. We have long standing relationships with several major universities on critical data and digital transformation initiatives and have a deep understanding of how quality data can improve competitive advantage in a dynamic demand-driven environment.
Our points of differentiation
|Improving student experience||We understand the importance of customising the student experience using data to improve student engagement and retention.|
|Enhancing research data||We understand the importance of trusted data to the integrity of research data outputs.|
And that the identification of actionable insights relating to student performance is reliant on comprehensive, accurate and timely data.
|Improving performance||We understand the importance of quality data to improving teaching and learning.|
|Whole of system approach||Our expertise is in gathering data and information across university departments to explore problems through a powerful whole-of-system approach.|
We’re proud of the work we have achieved for our clients:
We developed the first holistic view of research outputs across a major university, reaching best practice as outlined in the Australian Code for Responsible Conduct of Research.
We built the world’s first (we think!) digital data ethics assessment tool for one of Australia’s top-ranking universities. Our work has helped them to be the first Australian university to proactively and consistently apply a data ethics assessment to ensure the use of its vast quantities of data follows ethical principles right from the outset.
We supported another top-ranking university to meet increased demand for analytics to support data-driven decision making and regulatory changes through the introduction of an enterprise approach to data governance.
Through data analysis we helped reduce the carbon footprint of a leading university by reducing the need for inter-campus travel through video communication technology, in turn increasing staff collaboration and reducing costs.
We developed a data centre strategy which will enable a Queensland university to mitigate business continuity risks, meet compliance requirements and realise operational efficiencies through new, more agile approaches to provisioning enterprise ICT infrastructure.
